Frequently Asked Questions
A gimbal is a mechanism that keeps an instrument like a compass at a set orientation in an aircraft or ship. On drones, gimbals are generally used to mount a camera. The gimbal, usually under the drone, is designed to maintain the camera’s orientation despite the movement of the drone. If the drone comes with a camera mounted on a gimbal then the gimbal and camera can most likely be replaced with gimbals and cameras from other manufacturers.
